Marisha Pessl Night Film review.
Wow what can i say without giving anything away? This book is filled with so many directions for one story just when you think you have that aha moment you are taken down another path of explanation of faith and wonderment.
The book has many clues on top of clues many in the form of photos and web articles. I think this book will become the next House of Leavesthough not as difficult as HOL it is filled with just as much mystery and discussion points that word of mouth will bring even more to read it to unravel the mystery.
The story revolves around a filmmaker you would swear really exist but it's all part of the mystery. Any one who might be a fan of the Lynch on Lynch, Revised EditionDavid Lynch and his universe will feel right at home with this story.
I'm really interested in seeing how the Kindle version of this book turns out.
let me borrow from David Lynch and plant one little clue (She's filled with secrets)

As Bas as They Come 4 Star review Orrie Hitt
The book is about a guy who is trying to get ahead in the mailing house business and is such a player with all the ladies he meets. The book is very adult and the illustrations are very adult and i admit some nostalgic fun.
If you in the mood for a raunchy pulp read this one should for sure fit the bill.It has a bit of Mad Men feel to it with plenty of trouble with the female population and the little tricks and situations they get any hot blooded man into.

Dragnet: Old Time Radio - 380 Episodes
Now over on Audible.com They have all 380 Dragnet Radio shows for download in one package 137 hours and 57 minutes
of legendary radio show.
Dragnet was perhaps the most famous and influential police procedural drama in media history. The series gave millions of audience members a feel for the boredom and drudgery, as well as the danger and heroism, of real-life police work.
Actor and producer Jack Webb's aims in Dragnet were for realism and unpretentious acting. He achieved both goals, and Dragnet remains a key influence on subsequent police dramas in many media. The show's cultural impact is such that even after five decades, elements of Dragnet are known to those who have never seen or heard the program - including the famous four-note introduction to the theme music and the opening narration, "Ladies and gentlemen: the story you are about to hear is true. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent."
The original Dragnet starring Jack Webb as Sgt. Friday ran from from June 3, 1949, to February 26, 1957 on NBC radio. Webb insisted on realism in every aspect of the show. The dialogue was clipped, understated and sparse, influenced by the hardboiled school of crime fiction. Scripts were fast moving but didn’t seem rushed. Every aspect of police work was chronicled, step by step: From patrols and paperwork, to crime scene investigation, lab work and questioning witnesses or suspects. The detectives' personal lives were mentioned but rarely took center stage. "Underplaying is still acting", Webb told Time. "We try to make it as real as a guy pouring a cup of coffee."

Highway Patrol Season 2-4 now on DVD
Finally the season 2 through 4 of Highway Patrol are now on DVD and at a very great price of $12.99 each as of this posting. The video on the DVD is very crisp black and white very good quality considering the age of the show.
Each season comes in a box that holds two DVD cases, the box fits nicely on the shelf with other DVDs my only concern is that the first case holds three of the DVDs and it is a case where they are stacked on top of each other on the spindle where case two only has two DVDs with their own holding spindle.
Other than the packaging of the first three DVDs this is a must have set for anyone who digs cop shows and wants to see where it all started. Every story seems very fresh compared to cop dramas today a different formula. That and seeing a bunch of sweet cars and locations that are now just part of history.
At $12.99 you get 975 minutes of entertainment and 39 episodes each season they didn't waste time back then they hammered them out.

Ann Rule A Fever In The Heart Review
More like a four and a half
Yes this is a great book, one of those book you open up just to get a taste of it and then you find yourself completely engrossed in the story. Then when the first story was over you just could not still put it down. The first story is the main meat of the book taking up at least 70% of the book and the 5 bonus stories are just as good but not as detailed but glad to have them included.
Ann Rule really knows how to write True Crime, she hooks you and unfolds it to you in a mystery making you follow the case like it is unfolding in front of you.
I just want to say i'm thrilled to see these Case File books are coming to the Kindle even though i have most of them also in paperback I find reading on a Kindle is so much more engrossing, but with that said I have One complaint. Yes this ebook has some of the photos included in the original release but the point is SOME OF THEM. The paperback includes photos not in the ebook and one of the photos was a key photo to include because it was a piece of artwork even mentioned in the txt of the story.
I know ebooks are still coming to age but come on put the effort into giving us what we pay for this is an actual publisher putting this out, you can even do more with ebooks than you can with print why scrimp?
Is this book worth having on Kindle? Yes but please publishers take the time and give the book in the best presentation.

After Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (Crimescape) Review
Jim Williams had it all: style, culture, charisma, and sophistication. As a premier antiques dealer in Savannah, he mingled with celebrities, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and the Rockefellers, who came to admire his extraordinary treasures. His legacy thrust Savannah into the national spotlight and transformed the genteel city into a tourist mecca.
But three decades of hard work came crashing down the night he shot Danny Hansford, his wild young lover. Jim Williams stood trial four times over the next decade for premeditated murder.
Today, tourists flock to Mercer House to see the gorgeous mansion depicted in Clint Eastwood's movie and the book from which it was made--Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil--where flamboyant designer and antiques dealer Jim Williams (Kevin Spacey) killed Danny Hansford (Jude Law). While the movie and book portrayed the natives of Savannah as remarkably decadent, exotic characters, they missed the surprising dark side of Jim Williams himself. He was a smooth predator whose crimes could have put him behind bars long before the death of Danny Hansford.
After Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is the newly revised and expanded version of the #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling true account of the crime, which includes crucial testimony recreating the courtroom drama between a gifted prosecutor and a brilliant defense attorney as they battle over the future of a self-made aristocrat. More than 40 photos and revealing insider interviews bring new life to the vivid cast of characters in this unique southern crime story.

Another True Crime book I could not put down, this book goes way beyond ordinary research. I like the structure of the book giving you both sides of the story and then giving the blow by blow of what happened in the court room.
A very flawed investigation put on the the police starts to fall apart after four trials and the truth starts to emerge.
Another high note on the book is the included photos that seem to be perfectly adapted to the ebook form, I really enjoy photos in True Crime books and these are very well presented. In most ebooks one you click on the photo the photo is no bigger that a postage stamp, but these photos had much more detail and you could zoom and in and actually see them.

LAWBREAKERS Lee Marvin DVD collection coming
March 26
For decades, generations of viewers have tuned in faithfully to witness the dirty deeds, and clean resolutions, that televised crime shows routinely deliver. It s a time proven format that never fails to satisfy justice served, in well under an hour."Lee Marvin Presents: Lawbreaker", featuring the talents of one of Hollywood's most iconic tough guys, stands out in a genre that has produced some of televisions most popular and influential programming, and also some of it's more memorable personalities.
Cast as a bad guy early in his career, Lee Marvin began making a name for himself with supporting roles in "The Wild One' and "The Big Heat" in 1953, before his performance as a sadistic cowboy in "Bad Day at Black Rock" (1955) cemented his reputation as a leading screen villain. He was propelled to stardom and leading man status following outstanding performances in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" (1962), and in "The Killers" (1964). The Western-comedy "Cat Ballou" (1965), earned Marvin widespread critical kudos, as well as an Academy Award for Best Actor.
In addition to his big-screen successes, Marvin starred in two television series, "M Squad" (NBC, 1957-1960), which cast him as a plainclothes detective who is a member of a special squad with the Chicago Police Department that takes on organized crime, and later, as host and narrator of "Lee Marvin Presents: Lawbreaker". One of the first television crime dramas to feature semi-documentary re-creations of real life cases, the show pioneered a format that is still wildly popular almost fifty years later. Marvin s tough-as-nails persona and his trademark no nonsense delivery shine through as he guides us through a sordid collection of criminal activity extracted from the crime dockets of some of America s biggest cities.
Review of Ann Rule
Danger In The Dorm (Retro Ann Rule True Crime Short)
This book is a nice introduction to Ann Rule if you want to check out her style of writing and not wanting to invest in a full book.
I'm also happy to see these books come out like this, I am a collector of the True Crime magazines and everyday they seem harder and harder to find, with books like this we get a taste of what was presented in those magazines .
The book is an informative but quick read and also including nice black and white photos enhancing to the true crime experience.
I look forward to any future releases in this format.Ann Rule is one of the best when it comes to True Crime.

It was 1972, and the Oregon State University campus was considered one of the safest in America. Dorm residents felt so secure that some of them never bothered to lock their doors, unaware of the evil that lurked nearby. Everyone was shocked when the first girl was attacked. Soon there were more assaults. When honor student Nancy Wyckoff was murdered in her dorm room, detectives worked round the clock to catch her killer. But they were stumped when more victims came forward. The attacks did not seem to follow any pattern. DANGER IN THE DORM is one of Ann Rule's earliest true crime stories, published over four decades ago. In this first RETRO ANN RULE TRUE CRIME SHORT, Rule reports on the tragic murder that frightened students on campuses all over Oregon and beyond.

Serial Killer Series Boxed Set by RJ Parker Review
5.0 out of 5 stars Just the Facts ma'am
I'm quickly become a big fan of True Crime books it probably all dates back to my growing up and my grandfathers subscription to True Detective Magazine. Now with the Kindle I can find so many great reads and this book is a great example of that fact.
I have both the paperback and the Kindle versions of the book and both contains photos of the whoever the story is about and having it being True Crime and factual photos are a nice bonus.
RJ's books take a very factual approach without a bunch of extra filler of emotions like an Ann Rule book. He just gives you the facts and a little bit of opinion thrown in here and there, These books are like an encyclopedia of serial killers and a great reference for anyone who is interested in Serial Killers.
