BOOK SUMMARY: A 17-year-old intern must choose between trusting an irresistibly suave dance instructor—or her instincts. SINS07 is a series featuring lighthearted tales that explore each of the seven sins in order, beginning with lust.
My most recent publication is a YA novel titled, 1: The Intern, part of a SINS07 “seven deadly sins” series. Mr. Kipp Poe Speicher was kind enough to reply to a post I put up in July at Goodreads (I was seeking “advanced reviews” for the book).
I wasn’t actually intending to do a trailer for 1: The Intern—but I had “ideas” for it, at the last minute (about the same time as I added a few blog posts to the SINS07 blog). With book trailers, the text and visuals are of utmost importance. Everything must be condensed into a few concise lines.
I ended up reading and re-reading Kipp’s review of 1: The Intern. His review was exactly what I needed—a neat (yet comprehensive) summary of the plot, storyboard-style. What he wrote fit in very well with the pacing of the book trailer I had in mind—it was from his review that I gathered “what to include” in the trailer (which guided me with regards to the pictures/photos I had to find, to feature in the video).
Because this review spared me many moments (or hours) of agony (with coming up with a concise plot summary for a book trailer, in the first place), I was able to complete the entire video in about 3 hours (including searching for pictures, music, putting the slides together, etc).
I've always liked speed + efficiency (P.S. that's why I'm an indie author).
Hence, the following credit at the end of the video (and on the video’s page at YouTube):
“Special thanks to Kipp Poe Speicher (for breakdown of the book’s plot).”
